FAQs

  • Tim Schuster, Wefunder, and a few more.

  • We ask for 100% participation from the Founder/CEO. Co-founders & teammates are welcome to participate, too.

  • Yes.

  • No secrets. You’ll reach out, build relationships, and grow a community around your brand. Along the way, we’ll discover how polite persistence pays off.

  • There are no shortcuts. It’s hard, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.

  • Community Round. Mini IPO. Crowdfunding. Reg CF. Whatever you call it, partnering with friends & family (and friends and family of your friends and family) is step one for most early-stage tech companies and first-time founders. The good news is we can accomplish this without shame or worry about hurting relationships.

  • Wefunder is a certified B Corp with a mission to fix capitalism. They believe non-wealthy individuals should have access to investment opportunities in early-stage companies. Cohort participants will use a provided Wefunder affiliate link, and Wefunder will provide best practices, a webpage & transaction portal, some legal/compliance guidance, and a $2,500 discount to founders.

  • Read this Wefunder playbook. Search around to learn the basics about filing a Form C with the SEC. If you have time, read The Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson.

  • Companies will remain (mostly) anonymous throughout the cohort. After the program, companies may choose if they want to be part of a public announcement.

  • We’re working on that. We can’t provide legal or tax advice, but we’re working on relationships with legal and financial professionals who can help.

  • The aim is to complement the extraordinary services and accelerators already provided. The next generation of angel investors seeks small, meaningful ways to contribute to emerging founders. We also feel this will help “de-risk” future investments (Angels, VC’s, etc.) for founders.

  • That wasn’t a question, but you’re right. It is. This cohort aims to help founders raise money, but it’s also about helping more people get inspired by “founder energy.”

  • Vision. Enthusiasm. The willingness to build, test, and learn. A healthy risk appetite (courage + curiosity). Solving important problems - at scale. Your energy as a founder is contagious. We need to get you in front of people so that energy can spread through communities and networks in ways that are efficacious. We only want you to spend your energy on engagements that will help you grow your business - no fluff, no wasted time and energy, just the good stuff that will help put funds in your bank account and spread your vision and dream into the world.

  • You’ll have options. And you’ll have new tools, stronger relationships, and confidence. You’ll file a Form C, and your campaign will become more public. You’ll have new friends. You’ll find your voice. And from there? Well we can’t wait to see what comes next with you.
