3 Kinds of Deadlines

  1. Missed opportunities - The opportunity could pass us by.

Example: We can get in their newsletter if we provide an image and copy by Monday.

  2. Blockers & contingencies - Someone is holding up something or someone else.

Example: My teammate needs something from me so they can do their job.

  3. Right-sizing the work - A self-imposed forcing function because some tasks or projects should take no longer than it takes.

Example: This blog shouldn’t take more than 2 hours, so it’s due at noon.
